From time to time, I write my own or modify other people’s software to do specific tasks for me.  Where permitted or required by the licensing terms of the original code, or by my own code, I’m putting forth my meager efforts for all to see.

count.plOriginally written by Madhat, this script is a perennial favorite on a few mailing lists I reside on.  The purpose is simple – to collect and publish statistics on the posts to a mailing list.  The modification I have made, in this case, is to ignore certain message subject lines in the “URL Rollup” function, to allow for that fuction to be run semi-automatically without user intervention.  For those interested, a diff file of my script from the original source (which is, as of this writing, still current) is here.
